Kashmiris hometown celebrates founding anniversary of AJK State government with traditional zeal, fervor

MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) :  In Azad Jammu Kashmir’s overseas Kashmiris home district of Mirpur, major special ceremony to celebrate the 78th founding anniversary of Azad government of the state of Jammu & Kashmir was held at the lush green lawn of the AJK Supreme Court Circuit Branch Bulding under the auspices of the apex court of Azad Jammu Kashmir.

Our AJK Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur that Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu Kashmir Justice Raja Seed Akram Khan hoisted the national flag of AJK to mark the 78th founding anniversary of Azad govt. of the state of Jammu & Kashmir which came into existence this day of October 24, 1947.

A full dressed contingent of AJK police presented salute to the AJK flag.

Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan hoisted AJK flag marking the founding anniversary of the AJK state government, established this day 78 years ago in 1947.

Folliwed by a well uniformed AJK police guard of honor, the largelly attended ceremony was atteended among others by the retired and serving judges of the superior and subordinate judiciary of AJK, officers of the district administration, members of the legal fraternity and representatives of diverse segments of the civil society. The AJK government founding anniversary cake was cut besides the distribution to sweet meats on this occasion besides exchanging of felicitations to each other.

Another major ceremony in this disitrict was held at the lawns of Municipal Corporation Mirpur where Deputy Inspector General Police Mirpur Division Dr. LIaqat Hussain. City Mayor Ch Usman Khalid and Deputy Commissioner Yasir Riaz, SSP Khurram Iqbal and Deputy Mayor Muhammad Ramzan Chughtai hoisted the national flags of Pakistan and AJK. Besides salute by a police contingent to the national flag, a most impressive band presented the national anthems of Pakistan and AJK through the beautiful lyrics.

The ceremony was attended among others by the city elite including social and political workers, government employees besides people from all other sections of the society.

While airing their views through the media on this occasion dignitaries recalled that the Kashmiris were continuing their indigenous and historic struggle for freedom in the Indian Illegally occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir from the long Indian subjugation.

Speakers urged upon the free world to help the people of the Indian- Illegally occupied part of the state seeking liberation from the Indian clutches and afford them opportunity to decide their future in line with the U.N resolutions on Kashmir. They also highlighted the chapters of the history which make the state of Jammu & Kashmir an integral part of Pakistan through historical, geographical, religious territorial and all other natural links.

The intelect class here also called upon United Nations to fulfill its due obligations and global promise without any further delay paving a way for the early solution of the long standing dispute of Kashmir in peaceful manner through the result oriented composite dialogue between India and Pakistan.

Commenting over the importance of the day, they said that this year too the Kashmiris have attached high hopes with the meaningful dialogue between both Pakistan and India for ultimate reaching to the early peaceful settlement of the core issue of Kashmir through the composite dialogue according to the aspirations of the Kashmiris.

Through various other similar ceremonies hosted in different parts of Mirpur division including Kotli and Bhimbher districts speakers apprised the world that the people of Jammu & Kashmir at either side of the Line of control and rest of the world will continue their ongoing struggle for freedom till such time that the atrocities being committed on the innocent Kashmiris by the Indian occupation forces are brought to a permanent end.

They reiterated that the true spirit of the establishment of Azad Jammu Kashmir government will be achieved with a pledge to make the area prosperous but also get their brethren in occupied Jammu Kashmir freed from the Indian tyrannical rule .

Earlier the day dawned with special prayers for the early liberation of Indian illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir, speedy progress and prosperity if Azad Jammu Kashmir and for the stability, progress and prosperity of Pakistan, the ultimate destination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who had linked their destiny with it, before its emergence on July 19. 1947.
