The incident, which took place at Wakeley’s Christ The Good Shepherd Church during a service, is Sydney’s second known mass stabbing in as many days.

According to authorities, a stabbing at a church in a Sydney suburb has left multiple people injured.

A police spokeswoman told Reuters on Monday that a man was taken into custody by officers after the attack in Wakeley, which is roughly thirty kilometers west of the central business center. The man is supporting the police with their investigations.

Several worshippers and a church leader were reportedly stabbed during a service at the church, according to local media.

The horrific incident, which happened during a Wakeley Assyrian church service, was seen on live television.

The assembly erupted into horror as a man approached the altar, lifted his right arm, and slashed at the preacher with a knife.

Many seemed to want to jump at the chance to assist.

A second large-scale stabbing
Following the deaths of six people in a knife attack at a Bondi area mall, this was Sydney’s second known mass stabbing in as many days.

The attack on Monday occurred during a service at Christ The Good Shepherd Church, and authorities were still on the scene attempting to manage sizable crowds who had assembled for the occasion.
The AFP news agency was informed by the ambulance service that four males, ranging in age from 20 to 70, were receiving medical attention for wounds, including cuts.

According to the police, the victims’ wounds were not life-threatening.

At least four persons were hurt, according to the New South Wales ambulance service, one of whom was a guy in his 50s who was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Eleven ambulances are present at the scene.
